SHIPPING

1. What does Qatar Airways Cargo offer?

Qatar Airways Cargo offers general air cargo solutions or tailor-made air cargo solutions that suit our customer´s requirements.

2. Can I send cargo to/from Qatar using Qatar Airways Cargo?

For your cargo shipments from Qatar to other countries, you have to contact your cargo freight forwarders or agents based in Qatar, who are affiliated with International Air Transport Association (IATA). For shipments outside Qatar, please contact our sales office nearest to you.

3. What type of shipments do you accept?

We accept shipments ranging from normal cargo such as general goods, mails to perishable products, pharmaceuticals, live animal, human remains, valuable cargo, etc., which require special handling procedures.

4. Does Qatar Airways Cargo transport cargo in passenger flights?

We transport cargo to an extensive network of more than 150 destinations using both freighters and passenger flights. See our network map.

5. Can I ship cargo to destinations where Qatar Airways Cargo does not operate?

We provide air cargo shipment to your desired destinations via connecting flights and trucking services. You may contact our local cargo offices for more details.

6. What information is required to request a shipment quote?

The nature or content of your shipment, number of pieces, weight, dimension, origin and destination addresses with city, state, zip code, sender and consignee contact details, plus other information relevant to your shipment.

7. Can I insure my shipment?

It is not compulsory to insure air cargo shipments with Qatar Airways Cargo. We do not include an insurance service to your shipment booking. However, if you wish to insure your shipment, you may contact your preferred insurance service provider or company.

TRACKING

1. How do I track my shipment?

Visit shipment tracking page on our website and enter your Air Waybill (AWB) number. Alternatively you can download QR Cargo mobile app on your iOS or Android devices. The application provides real-time shipment status and other value-added features. For more enquiries, please email askcargo@qatarairways.com.qa

2. Can I track my shipment without shipment reference number?

You are unable to track a shipment without the Air Waybill (AWB) number.

3. Can I notify the receiver the status of shipment?

Yes. You can send the shipment status to the receiver via email. Track your shipment online by entering the e-AWB number and forward the information by providing the receiver’s email address.

2. What type of animals can I transport via Qatar Airways Cargo?

It depends on the breed, destinations and local regulations.

3. I would like to send my pet via air cargo, what is the procedure?

Please provide them your shipment details, including weight and dimension of the cage.

4. Can I ship cats through Qatar Airways Cargo?

Yes. However, some breeds are not permitted such as Birman, Burmese, Exotic, Himalayan and Persian.

5. Can I ship dogs through Qatar Airways Cargo?

Yes. However some breeds are not permitted such as American Staffordshire Terrie any Pug, Boston Terrier, Boxer, Brussels Griffon, Bull Mastiff (English Mastiff), Bull Terrier, Dogue De Bordeaux (French Mastiff), English Bulldog, English Toy Terrier, French Bulldog, Japanese Chin, Lhasa Apso, Neapolitan Mastiff, Pekingese, Pitbull Terrier, Shar Pei, Shih Tzu, Staffordshire Bull Terrier and Tibetan Spaniel.

6. What are the quarantine regulations for bringing a dog into Qatar?

Please contact your nearest Qatar Airways Cargo office for information on Qatari quarantine regulations.

7. Will my pet be fed during its overnight stay?

At Qatar Airways Cargo, we have a 24/7 special handling team for live animals (AVI) shipments.

8. What is the procedure to import wild birds?

Import procedure differs in every country. We will assist our customers to check the local regulations practised at origin and destination countries.

9. What are the requirements to export live animals?

The export process requires:

  • Health Certificate
  • Import Permit (if applicable to destination)
  • Vaccination Record
  • CITES (if applicable)
  • Passport copy (for horses)

SPECIAL CARGO

1. What are the requirements to transport human remains to/from Qatar?

We require death certificate which states the cause of death, passenger ticket of the person accompanying the decease, passport copy of the decease, police or Criminal Evidences and Information Department (CEID) clearance, embalming certificate, no-objection letter from Embassy of India (only for Indian sectors, except Cochin, Khozikode and Trivandrum).

Contact details of family member and report from Criminal Evidences and Information Department (CEID) are required too.

2. Where do I get information regarding the acceptance of human remains in Qatar?

Our Ground Handling Agent (GHA) in Qatar is able to provide information and assistance on special handling procedure. For export acceptance, please contact:

CLAIMS

1. What is the procedure for claims?

Register online with our CROAMIS system, submit all required information and supporting documents of your claims.

2. How do I register?

Log onto CROAMIS page, select “Claimant” and complete the end-user enrolment form.

3. What are the supporting documents required for a claim?

  • Delayed shipment - master Air Waybill (MAWB), airport warehouse delivery receipt, invoice and packing list.
  • Missing shipment - master Air Waybill (MAWB), airport warehouse delivery receipt (in case of partial loss), invoice and packing list.
  • *Damaged shipment - master Air Waybill (MAWB), airport warehouse delivery receipt, invoice and packing list, pictures of the items, survey report (if the damage is assessed by a surveyor).
*Cargo Claims on Perishable consignments should be supported with health certificate and destruction report.

4. . Who can submit a Claim?

Any party mentioned on the face of the master Air Waybill (MAWB) and/or any third party authorised by the party mentioned on the face of the master Air Waybill (MAWB). Authorisation document is mandatory.

6. How is my claim processed?

  • Your claim will be assigned to a dedicated claims coordinator once the request is submitted.
  • Each claim will be investigated with the origin cargo office for verification of information and the findings will be notified to the Claimant.
  • Our average processing time of a claim is 45 days, subject to receipt of complete documentations required from the Claimant. Failure to submit all supporting documents after a third reminder by Qatar Airways Cargo will result in closure of your claim request without further notice.
  • In the event your claim request is re-opened, the processing period of 45 days will be reinstated.

7. Who should I contact if my claim is not resolved within 45 days?

Our Cargo Claims Department will assist with your claim request, subject to the receipt of all required documents. If there is further delay, email your case to qrcgoclaims@qatarairways.com.qa with the subject header: Outstanding Claim (MAWB number) Exceeding 45 Days.
